Lucca

Lucca

The historical city center of the city remained almost intact in its original appearance, and therefore can include a variety of architectures of value, as the numerous medieval churches of great architectural richness (Lucca has even been nicknamed the "city of 100 churches," because of the presence numerous churches in the old quarter, andconsecrated, in the past and now present in the city), and bell towers, Renaissance palaces and monuments of excellent linearity style. The city also boasts beautiful urban spaces: the most famous is undoubtedly that of the square of the amphitheater, built on the ruins of the ancient Roman amphitheater by the architect Lorenzo Nottolini and unique architecture. Historic main street is narrow, medieval street Fillungo, which brings together the largest shops in the city. Other picturesque squares are then Piazza San Michele, the historic heart of the city, and Piazza San Martino, where there is the religious hub famous Duomo di San Martino.
